We chose Colibri, which means hummingbird in Spanish, because it perfectly captures the spirit of what we aim to build. The hummingbird, though small and delicate in appearance, is remarkably resilient and determined.

Meet Heidi
Heidi is the co-owner of Colibri Coffee and a proud U.S. veteran, having served nine years in the Arizona National Guard, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Her commitment to service continues today through her dedication to community and meaningful connection.
A lover of books, music, art—and a lifelong Star Wars fan—Heidi can often be found cozied up with a cup of coffee and a good story. Her creativity and compassion shine in everything she does—from supporting local causes to shaping the welcoming atmosphere at Colibri Coffee.
Heidi has a taste for bold, darker roasts and recommends Iron Wing, a rich, balanced coffee that’s just as satisfying black as it is with a splash of milk.
Meet Kathryn
Kathryn is an Arizona native whose journey has taken her from 12 years of service in the Army Reserves and National Guard, including two deployments to Afghanistan, to building a community-focused coffee business.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, she enjoys fly fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. She’s also a devoted fan of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, always ready to get lost in a magical world between cups of coffee.
Her passion for coffee—and the way it brings people together—led her and her wife, Heidi, to create Colibri Coffee, a space where great flavor and local connection meet. Kathryn favors lighter roasts for their bright, citrusy notes and recommends Tail Wind to anyone who enjoys a smooth, vibrant cup.
